Stanley Gene Russell Born October 30, 1933 Died May 17, 2026 Stan was born in Glasgow, MT to William (Bill) and Bertha Russell of Larslan, MT. He was the youngest of four children and the first to be born in a hospital. Stan died in Glasgow at the age of 93; there will be no service. Some of his ashes are along side his wife, Allie, in the Glentena Cemetery; some scattered in his greenhouse in Larslan, and some on his alfalfa field. Right now, he is probably fishing with his friends. Stan went to school in Larslan through the eighth grade, attended and graduated from Nashua High School, and then decided to enlist in the Marine Corp right away. When he was discharged, he decided to attend college in North Dakota and Northern Montana College in Havre to become a science teacher. While in Havre he also worked at the Oliver dealership as a partsman. Stan taught in Alaska, Highwood, MT, and from 1969-1976 he taught in Flaxville, MT. The science room still has a dent in the ceiling from an experiment emulating a grain dust explosion from a coffee can. He also taught chemistry, physics, geology, as well as taxidermy and firearm reloading. On February 14, 1985 Stan married Allie Squires of Opheim. She passed away May 6, 2022. Also preceding him in death was his three siblings – Roxanna Fuhrman, who was a teacher at the one room South Fuhrman School; Hollis Russell, who was an airplane mechanic in Houston, TX; and Verlin Russell, a walking postman in Spokane, WA. Other surviving relatives include Lois Musgjerd of Helena, MT, Floyd Fuhrman of Terry, MT, Darrel Fuhrman of Opheim, Peggy Leeds Fuhrman of Whitefish, Peggy Keel of Livingston, TX, Karen Rice of Conroe, TX, and Sharon Lancry who is living in France.
