Freelance Reporter / Contributor Needed Job Type: Remote / Contract Pay: $0.50-$1.00 per column inch, depending on experience. About the Role: We are seeking freelance reporters to cover breaking news and in-depth features across northeast Montana from Frazer to the North Dakota border and from Vida to Scobey. You will work closely with editor Bill Vander Weele to pitch unique perspectives and deliver timely, high-quality coverage. Responsibilities: Pitch 3-5 unique article ideas per month. Conduct interviews and write 600–1,000 word features on tight deadlines. Source relevant imagery and ensure factual accuracy. Requirements: Strong understanding of local news. Ability to write clean, engaging and error-free copy. Comfortable with remote collaboration.
