Handran's Home C enter It seemed like only yesterday when Handran’s Home Center was celebrating its grand opening at 103 Main Street in Scobey on July 4, 2008 (priorly the business was run out of Handran’s home garage just west of Scobey from February 28, 2008 to July 4, 2008). Eighteen years and later that same space is now occupied by Pat and Marta Lund’s The Body Building/Lund Chiropractic. Handran’s Home Center, owned and operated by Steven and Liana Handran, didn’t move far as they headed west by one block and set up shop in the old Getschel’s grocery store building at 7 Daniels Street. “Our biggest expansion in those 18 years has been in flooring and carpet,” said Liana. “Our flooring department has expanded dramatically, with all kinds of tile. We have 25 different types of flooring and now do flooring installations. Over the first 18 years in business Handran’s Home Center (Instagram: hhc2050) has always been on the hunt for products to fill in, meaning the store continually has to keep finding new products to keep their customers coming back for more, which, through the past 210 months has included a large variety of clocks, wall decor, a large gift selection, flooring, Benjamin Moore paint, kitchen cabinets by Starmark, kitchen design services, Schluter Systems for waterproofing bathrooms. “There are tons of products out there that we want to get in here,” said Liana. “The opportunities are endless.” “Six years ago (the logistics and cost of shipping) freight was our biggest problem but now the problem is competing with internet shopping,” Liana said. “It is very real still on both accounts but we love our location with the larger showroom and floor space, love the loading dock, which is my favorite feature, and love the big parking lot.” Stop in and see for yourself from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
