Job Posting: Public Health Director Daniels County Health Department Daniels County Health Department is seeking a Public Health Director to plan, administer, supervise, and evaluate public health programs and services. This position provides leadership for the department, advocates for funding, and coordinates community health initiatives and emergency response efforts. Essential Duties • Lead and manage public health programs and staff • Implement and evaluate public health policies and services • Coordinate public health emergency preparedness and response • Collaborate with community, local, and state partners • Serve as a public health spokesperson and liaison to the Board of Health • Will be auuthorized to represent Daniels County Health Officer for certain powers and duties. • Develop and manage department budgets and grants collaboratively with the commissioners • Ensure compliance with public health laws, regulations, and ethical standards • Serve as the on-call public health authority, maintaining availability outside of normal business hours to respond to public health emergencies, outbreaks, and time-sensitive incidents as required by the nature of public health work. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field preferred; Nursing degree or Bachelors degree with continuing education in Public Health. •Three (3) or more years of leadership or management experience preferred • Past experience in Public Health preferred • Must obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, and 700 certifications within 6 months • Variety of software, Basic Cpomputer Applications, Learn new software for documentation • Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle, the ability to travel Additional Information This position is grant-funded; 1.0 FTE is not guaranteed due to funding availability.
