Advanced Practice Providers: Your Partners in Care Did you know that Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) deliver the same safe, evidence-based, high-quality care as physicians? At Daniels Memorial, our expert APP team consists of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs). Both are specially trained to assess, diagnose, treat, and prescribe for all your primary care, mental health, chronic disease, and wellness needs. Nurse Practitioners (NP) are registered nurses who proceed to complete advanced education at the Master's or Doctoral level, national certification, and a state license. Their responsibilities range from performing exams, diagnosing illnesses or conditions, ordering and interpreting tests, preventive care, to prescribing medications and treatment plans. Their nursing background allows them to deliver high-quality care by compassionately and thoughtfully focusing on each individual patient’s best state of health emphasizing physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health. Physician Assistants (PAs) complete advanced education at the Master’s level, often modeled after physician training, and work in nearly all specialty and primary care areas. PAs provide high-quality medical care under the supervision of physicians. Their responsibilities range from conducting physical exams, diagnosing illnesses or diseases, ordering and interpreting tests, counseling general health issues, prescribing medications and treatment plans, to minor procedures. PAs embody a unique blend of autonomy and collaboration in their practice. Together, NPs and PAs provide comprehensive, compassionate, and highly capable care for patients of all ages. Their role requires not only medical expertise and clinical skills but also critical thinking and a commitment to strong patient-centered care. These trusted professionals focus on your health journey by spending the extra time to listen, explain, and partner with you to improve your health. At DMHC, you can trust our Advanced Practice Providers to provide the care you and your family deserve.
