continues to provide vital resources for maintenance, parts, repairs, and engineering fees for KCGM’s studio, transmitter, and tower east of Scobey.
Sustainable Rural Radio, Inc (501c3) continues to provide vital resources for maintenance, parts, repairs, and engineering fees for KCGM’s studio, transmitter, and tower east of Scobey. “Like everything else, the cost of maintenance and repairs has skyrocketed,” stated John Machart, KCGM general manager. “Thanks to generous public support, Sustainable Rural Radio has been there to cover tower and transmitter expenses that otherwise would have shut the doors at KCGM.” “Normal month to month expenses are generally covered by sales, but if not for Sustainable Rural Radio, the big ticket items in the Studio and at the Tower site would overwhelm the operation. Major expenses of immediate concern include the need to update the wiring for the tower lights.“ New LED lights were recently installed but the wiring is in need of being replaced soon. “The climate control system at the tower site is fourteen years old and failing. It is a key part of the tower site equipment to keep the transmitters cool to prevent shut-down and extend the life of equipment. Currently temperatures have been reaching over 100° between band-aid fixes." Please consider Sustainable Rural Radio with a contribution. Contributions to Sustainable Rural Radio, Inc. (501c3) are tax deductible, please contact Tade Accounting or the KCGM Studio. — Thank You in advance.
