We’re Working to Earn Your Loyalty and Friendship . . . Be Here For Us & We’ll Continue To Be Here For You! TROWER A VIATION If WE don’t help our community WHO will? Trower Aviation was started in 1975 by Charles Trower. He started construction on the office building and hangars at the Scobey Airport in 1976 and finished them in 1977. Trower, who has been flying since his early teens, received his aviation mechanics license from the Helena Vo-Tech in 1974, with a focus on aviation airframe and power plant maintenance and repair. He earned his aerial spraying certification from the University of Nevada in Reno and has attended several other schools for his many pilot ratings. In his spare time he likes to rebuild airplanes. By buying wrecked airplanes and repairing them to like-new condition, he can keep the doors open in the winter not only providing some income for him but is able to keep employees on the job full-time. These projects require hundreds of man hours over many months to repair. As well as rebuilding aircraft from the ground up, like the one at right which was recently finished, he also repairs planes for others and has a large clientele of customers from around the United States and Canada who like his work. Other employees at Trower Aviation include Shelly Trower, secretary/bookkeeper, and Luverne Levang, who works in the shop. Services offered at Trower Aviation include: • Aviation mechanical work in the shop, including major aircraft repairs and engine installations. • Handling charter flights through Dallas Aero of Poplar. • Renting hangar space to local and transient aircrafts. Trower Aviation also maintains the Scobey Airport for Daniels County, including snow removal, mowing, maintaining the lights along the runway and selling fuel for the county. Charles pointed out the value of the airport to Daniels County and some of its features: allows an ambulance plane from Billings and Stat Air out of Glasgow to serve the area; open 24 hours a day; Global Positioning System is in place so if there is restricted visibility an aircraft can land or take off with the GPS, if the plane is equipped with GPS.
