Myles Sanner is a mechanic on the staff. Darchuk and Dobson worked in the business’s current building when it was still Solberg’s, a General Motors dealership. Darchuk (SHS’ 85) was an honor student at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, where he earned a degree in automotive technology. He began working part time at Solberg’s during high school and began going full time in July 1987. He is an Automotive Service Excellence master technician. Dobson was born and raised in Billings, graduating from Billings West High School in 2005. He graduated from the Montana State University-Billings College of Technology with a degree in automotive technology. He joined the Solberg’s staff in 2009. They can work on engine repair, small engine repair, transmission replacement, vehicle diagnostics, air conditioning, brakes, drive chain repair, small axle repair, lawn mowers, compressors and four-wheelers in their NAPA Auto Care Center. Next day service is available on many non-stock parts and accessories. In the summer of 2011 Darchuk and Dobson purchased the real estate, repair shop and parts business at the Solberg’s location from Wes Solberg, creating Double D Automotive. Some of the products in stock in Double D Automotive’s NAPA auto parts store include: wiper blades, brake fluid, Sta-Bil, hitch pins, link pins, nozzles, utility knives, batteries, battery chargers, extension cords, gloves, drill/driver kits, blow gun kits, socket sets, spray paints and primers, air hoses, hook and pick sets, vise grips, ratchet tie downs, towing-light kit, hitch balls, polishing compound, car shampoo, carwash concentrate, leather wipes, sponges, auto carpet cleaner, glass cleaner, tractor hydraulic and transmission fluid, mineral gear oil, electric tape, Gorilla Glue, WD-40, windshield de-icer, silicone spray, high power brake cleaner, diesel fuel supplement, carb/choke/parts cleaner, power steering fluid, degreasing compound, welding helmets, Sealant form, Gojo, funnels, diesel exhaust fluid, moter oils, batteries, flashlights, service jacks, interior parts, nuts, bolts, shovels, belts, drill press, welding supplies, a plethora of parts, an assortment of lights—head, tail, blinker, strobe—and a myriad of tools.
