The Scobey Stingrays swim team not only won the East C Divisional Meet in their own home-town pool last weekend, they also won big in another way: they only have to travel to the Plentywood pool for the Montana Federation of Swimmers State Meet set for this Saturday and Sunday (August 1-2).

Forty-two miles over there, 42 miles to back, home cooking, own bed, sleep in an extra hour!

The Stingrays stung the competition by posting

1,000 points to win it all last week, edging Sidney by

43 points with Glendive in third.

“Overall the Scobey kids swan amazingly well and almost all that competed are headed to the State Meet,” said Head Coach Luke Cromwell.

Scobey had four High-Point Award winners including: • Weston Hardy, in the boys 9-10 division, won the 50-meter freestyle, 50 breaststroke, and 50 backstroke; • Nolan Kimball did the same in the boys 9-10 by winning the 100 IM, 100 free and 50 fly (the two teammates shared the High Point Award;

• Sophie McGowan in the

8 and under division, capturing the 25 freestyle and

50 free and placing second in the 25 butterfly stroke;

• Cantyn Crandell in the boys 8 and under, placing first in the 25 breaststroke and 50 freestyle and second in the 100 IM.
