Well . . . This Is It

After 104 years of publication, today—July 30, 2026—the Daniels County Leader published its final newspaper.

For the past 102 years, the Leader has been in the hands of three generations of the Bowler family. While history may record those numbers, what we will remember most are the people behind them.

We have been incredibly blessed by the support of this community. You welcomed the Leader into your homes each week. You subscribed, advertised, shared story ideas, corrected our mistakes, encouraged us when we needed it, and often stopped us on the street simply to say, “Good paper this week.” Those simple words meant more than you probably realized.
