Does one recall that big prairie fire southwest of Scobey (northeast of Lustre) on Wednesday, April 29, 2026? Smoke could be seen from a very large radius from all directions. Around 612 acres burned. The Daniels County Fire Department, based in Scobey, had all of its fire trucks responding. Members of that department put in close to an 8-hour shift that day!
