Taken from the unapproved minutes and reporter’s notes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.

REGULAR MEETING Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with Councilmembers Brian French, Niki Larson, Greg Crowder, and Seth Axtman present. Kody Brinton, CEO DMHC, City Attorney Samantha Howard, Fire Chief Wyatt Wilder, PWD Steve Berreth, and Clerk Sonya M. Southland also attended.

Public Works Report – • PWD Berreth reported baseball grounds cleanup is done. Councilwoman Larson requested that the baseball board communicate with Council on future plans

• The Garbage Truck should be here next week.

• Crew will be working on the pool and will open the restrooms on May 1st.

Zoning Administrator Report — reviewed permits at 204 Main St. and 415 Mill St. — both are in compliance. Councilwoman Larson moved to approve both permits, one at 204 Main St. and one at 415 Mill St., as presented, seconded and passed. There will be a public hearing on May 6th at 3:00 pm to receive comments on the petition to annex the new hospital site.

Study Commission Report – received Study Commission’s final report. Their recommendation was not to change the form of our local government. The report will be filed in Clerk and Recorder’s Office and copies mailed to Montana Department of Administration. Any remaining funds will be transfer to general fund.
