Scobey Boys Place Fifth, Girls 10th At Richey-Lambert Invite
The Scobey Spartans, after heading indoors at The Arc in Williston, North Dakota on March 28 and April 2, for some track and field competition, were finally given the green light by Mother Nature to finally compete in an outdoor setting.
Hosted by the Richey-Lambert Fusion on Friday, April 10, the meet had decent weather conditions to conduct the gathering, including a south wind the athletes had to run into a head wind coming down the final straightaway.
Winning the girls’ team title was the host team of Richey-Lambert, earning 75.5 points. The Glasgow Scotties were the runnersup with 65 points and while third place was earned by the Turner Tornados with 54. The Lustre Christian Lions placed seventh with 30 points while the Scobey girls finished in 10th with 26 out of 21 teams that scored.
On the boys’ side, Glasgow racked up 113 points for the team victory. The Lustre Christian boys had a strong showing to earn second place with 83.5 points while the Plentywood Wildcats were third with 75. The Scobey boys scored 39 points in a field of 20 teams to earn fifth place.
