Seven People Marooned In Blizzard 26 Hours– James Downs, managing partner at the Silver Slipper Bar in Scobey, was awakened last Friday morning by a telephone call which informed him his father, John Downs 65, passed away at his home in Homewood, Manitoba.

Mr. Downs tended to urgent business matters so he could get away in his car. The weather was overcast with flurries of snow. With him were a beer salesman and two members of a snowplow crew who had arrived in Scobey that morning...
