Basketball Brings Us Together

I was fortunate enough to recently attend this year’s edition of the 3-on-3, half-court basketball tournament known as Dixiejam, held annually at the Scobey School gyms. If there’s a more wonderful sight to behold than a couple hundred grade schoolers going to the hoop with great gusto all day long, I’m not sure what that would be.

While watching as many of the games as I could, I was also able to spend a bit of time out in the lunchroom area visiting with friends and neighbors. I ran into Marty Thievin who I hadn’t seen in quite some time and, as always, we had a great conversation (along with Roger Rasmussen), much of it farming related.
