Lady Spartans Add Two More Victories, Have 12-4 Record


The Scobey varsity girls’ basketball team ends its regular season when heading to Hinsdale Friday facing 3-time defending Class C state champion North Country Mavericks (6 p.m.) and then hosting the Circle Wildcats Saturday (7 p.m.).
Both should be highly competitive contests for the Spartans due to the fact when they faced these same two teams on back-to-back nights in January, the first one had the locals losing on their home court to the Mavs 53-33 and the next night in Circle were edged 39-37 by the Wildcats.
Said another way, the Lady Spartans have something to prove!
Friday’s tip-off time at Hinsdale High is scheduled for 6 p.m. while Saturday in Scobey the start time is 7 p.m. (Radio: KCGM 95.7 FM. TV: Nemont.TV Saturday 7 p.m.).
In last week’s action Scobey traveled to Nashua Thursday, February 5. The Spartans took a 10-2 lead through one quarter, led 28-6 by halftime and 49-6 through three periods in a 58-8 final.
Leading scorer for the blue and gold was Emery Rouse with 19 points followed by Chloe Handran with 9 and Kayla Carney with 8.
