No, this staple is the kind holding a community together.
Staple: “used, needed or enjoyed constantly, usually by many individuals.”
Everyone loves to hear a good story, better yet, a great local one.
The Staples of Scobey is going to provide just that every other Thursday, a new show hosted on Scobey radio station KCGM 95.7 FM by disc jockey Kylan (DJ-K), more commonly known as KylanJensen(SHS‘14).Sheis the mid-morning gal Monday through Friday taking listeners into the early afternoon hours before her shift comes to a close.
“When I came back to Scobey (after working and living in Plentywood for a few years), trying to figure out what to do, I went and talked to John (Machart, KCGM station manager), and, as luck would have it, the timing was perfect. I messaged John on a Sunday and then the previous DJ quit on Monday and I went in on Tuesday to talk to Jedda (Barron), not knowing the previous disc jockey had just quit (DJ-K previously worked there in 2018). It all just fell together.’’
The show features different aspects of this lovely little city we call home, population just under1,000folks(979in2025, a slight decline from its 2020 census count of 996).
