The top-ranked Scobey varsity boys kept their undefeated record intact following an 85-8 victory in Nashua Thursday and a 6344 win at home against the third-ranked Lustre Christian Lions.

Saturday’s matchup in the Scobey High School large gymnasium saw Kolten Machart give the Spartnas a 2-0 lead just 29 seconds into the contest. Lions’ junior Prestyn Klatt drove to the hoop and received a favorable roll on the rim to tie it at 2. After Scobey’s John Carney sank a field goal for another 2-point advantage, Lustre senior Johnslee Pierre drove, hit the shot and tied it for the second and final time of the contest at 4-all.

The Spartans threw together a 12-0 scoring run, creating a 16-4 lead at the end of the initial 8-minute stanza. Machart tallied three field goals for a 10-4 advantage, sophomore Reese Tande swished an 11-footer, Machart struck again close to the bucket at the 1:38 mark and Tande closed out the quarter with a fast-break layup.

Lustre Christian opened the second period with a 5-0 spurt as junior Cam Reddig dropped in a 3-point field goal and Klatt canned a driving layup to close within 16-9.
