Nelson Strikes Gold  Again At State Speech & Drama Meet
CHARLOTTE NELSON AT RIGHT came home last weekend as a state champion— earned at the State B/C speech and drama meet in Townsend. She finished first place in Humorous Oral Interpretation (HOI). She’s a repeat State Champion from 2024 and she placed third at state last school season. Madison Thompson also of Scobey, next to Charlotte, attended the state meet placing twelfth in Spontaneous Oral Interpretation (SPOI). Others participating at the state level from the Plentywood/Scobey cooperative team, were Plentywood students at left, Kiley Buschnowski, placed 15th and Matthew Simon finished 7th, both competing in Humorous Solo. -Plentywood School photo

Scobey senior Charlotte Nelson capped her high school speech and drama career with a state championship finish last weekend, highlighting a season that required extra commitment and community cooperation to make possible.

At the start of the 2025–26 school year, Scobey Schools discontinued their Speech and Drama program due to low participation. Wanting to ensure students still had the opportunity to compete, families worked with school officials to find an alternative.
