The Scobey varsity boys basketball team was finally pushed to the brink but, some how, some way found the path to victory.

The scene was the Circle High School gymnasium on Saturday, January 24, and the Spartans took a 19-14 lead through one quarter of play and was ahead 30-20 by halftime. Heading into the final 8-minute stanza the Scobey boys were ahead 4033. Then the Wildcats got hot. They had pulled within 51-49 of the Spartans but the scoreboard clock had struck zero, the boys in blue and gold escaping Round Town with their undefeated record still intact.

Bram Handran led the Spartans in scoring with 17 markers while John Carney added a dozen.

The rematch is scheduled for Saturday, February 14, in Scobey, the final regularseason rematch of the two squads.
