Allotments End, Price
Support Is Continued– Termination of wheat acreage allotments for 1951 means an end to compliance with allotments as a condition for price support on this year’s crop, Gilbert Hammer county PMA chairman, explained. Calling off allotments doesn’t change the Department of Agriculture’s commitment to support 1951 wheat prices. It was announced last August that 1951 wheat crop would be given support at 90 percent of parity as of July 1, 1951, but not less than a national average of rate of $1.99 a bushel.
