BASKETBALL — The list: In the December 11, 2025 issue of this newspaper was the two lists (girls and boys) of the most-winningest hoop coaches in Montana High School Association history. One name was not on the girls’ list and that might be due to the fact she is still actively the head coach of the North Country Mavericks of the Saco, Whitewater and Hinsdale communities (still the Panthers, Penguins and Raiders in track and field, respectively). Regular readers of this newspaper, particularly the sports pages, probably already know who we are talking about and her name is Amber Erickson, who teaches at Saco High School. Her current coaching record going into the 2025-26 hoop season was sitting at 417-151 (.734).
