Tax Collections Higher Than Last Year– County Treasurer Cliff Hanson stated that about 75% of county tax collections have been in payment of the full 1950 levies; the remaining percentage by those who made the first half payment which was due November 30.

As of today total collections for the 1950 assessment totaled $265,787. The Great Northern Railway, the county’s biggest taxpayer have paid its first half payment of more than $30,000.

Second largest taxpayer is Citizens State Bank of Scobey; third largest is Montana Dakota Utilities; and Continental Land Co. is fourth largest.
