Firemen Save Skerritt Farm Home Today– The modern farm home of the Harold Skerritt family, five miles east of Scobey, is a mess, but Mr. and Mrs. Skerritt feel fortunate to have their home at all.

This morning an explosion rocked their home and within moments the house began to fill with billowing smoke. Flames were brought under control, and as the smoke began to clear away, examination of the cause found it to be at the base of the fuel-oil water heater in the basement.
