They are off and running in the 2025 Montana High School Association cross country season as the Wolf Point Invitational was first off the starting line in the northeast corner of the state.

Held Friday, August 29, at Airport Golf Course and and through the wooded area south of the course, the Scobey lads and lassies were part of 278-person field-147 boys and 131 girls.

Cities and towns represented at the season opener included 18 high school teams representing 21 schools.

Action shifts to the Poplar Invitational a few miles east of the city limits this weekend on Saturday, September 6.

In addition to the Scobey Spartans, scheduled to compete in the high school races are: Brockton, Culbertson, Dodson, Fairview, Frazer, Froid-Medicine Lake, Hinsdale, Nashua, Plentywood, Poplar, Westby-Grenora, Whitewater and Wolf Point.
