Scobey Girls Keep On Truckin’ With Another Strong Showing

Last week’s article inthis space made note of the Scobey High School varsity girls’ track and field team “appear extremely consistent” in this 2025 season and by golly it went down to Sidney and proved those words as absolutely correct.
Now the bet is a nickel those same Lady Spartans will travel to the Friday, April 25, 65th annual Glendive Shriners Invitational and be their same consistent selves.
That doesn’t necessarily mean the Scobey girls are a lock to finish in the top three but they will most likely be up in the top third of the 33team field and still be the consistent squad they have become.
The reason being there are eight Class A teams scheduled to compete at the Oakland Athletic Complex at Perham Field, with the shot put getting the day going at 10 a.m. and the first race, the 100-meter dash, blasting out of the blocks at 11 a.m.
Those eight Class A teams include the Billings Central Catholic Rams, Custer County (Miles City) Cowgirls/Cowboys, Dawson County (Glendive) Red Devils, Hardin Bulldogs, Havre Blue Ponies, Laurel Locomotives, Lockwood Lions and Sidney Eagles.
The five Class B schools scheduled to attend are: Baker Spartans, Colstrip Colts/Fillies, Fairview Warriors, Glasgow Scotties, Poplar Indians and Wolf Point Wolves.
The 20 Class C teams, representing 23 schools, are the: Bainville Bulldogs, Brockton Warriors, Carter County (Ekalaka) Bulldogs, Circle Wildcats, Culbertson Cowboys/Cowgirls, Froid-Medicine Lake Redhawks, Garfield County (Jordan) Mustangs, Nashua Porcupines, Plentywood Wildcats, Plevna Cougars, Richey-Lambert Fusion, Rosebud Wranglers, Saco Panthers, Savage Warriors, Scobey Spartans, Terry Terriers, MonDak Thunder (Westby, Mont.-Grenora, N.D.) and Wibaux County Longhorns.

Four days later Scobey will have a few of its best 2025 perfomers invited to the 39th annual Norm Girard Top Ten Meet at Scottie Field in Glasgow on Tuesday, April 29, starting at 3 p.m.
