Taken from the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, January 23, 2024

at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall.

REGULAR MEETING

Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with council members Niki Larson, Seth Axtman, Greg Crowder and Paul Landeraaen present. Also, in attendance were Fire Chief Wyatt Wilder (8:36), Undersheriff Clint Lowe, City Attorney Ben Fosland, PWD Steve Berreth and Clerk Sonya M. Southland.

Public Works Report – PWD Steve Berreth reported: • Baby pool is almost completed removed

• Drafting a bid for cement work at the park

• Also getting quotes to purchase additional seasonal garbage cans in a different color for lawn waste – will use the backup truck to pick those on off days Zoning Administrator Report – Council reviewed the draft minutes Recommendation to Zoning Change - reviewed the recommendation to Council to update the zoning map by changing the I-1 (industrial) lots located on Main Street between Railroad Ave the intersection of Highway 248 and Chapman Road to B-1 (general business). This change would only affect the lots in this area with highway frontage and would not change the public zoned lots. This will just be a change to the map not the ordinance, Council debated on rather it was necessary to make the change by an ordinance. Decision was made to draft a Resolution or an Ordinance for the next meeting.
