Taken from the unapproved minutes and reporter’s notes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.

REGULAR MEETING Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with Councilmembers Seth Axtman, Niki Larson, Greg Crowder, and Brian French present. Also, in attendance were Wyatt Wilder, Joe Hammar, Kurt Nelson, David Newson, City Attorney Samantha Howard, PWD Steve Berreth, and Clerk Sonya M. Southland.

Public Comment – David Newson here to discuss transportation. He stated he applied to drive the transportation bus, and wants a part-time job. Right now, we have one bus and one driver, one day a week. He spoke with the hospital administrator, who told him he wasn’t eligible for the job and didn’t explain why. David stated after a confrontation, I cannot get hired because of the animosity between that woman and me. Mayor Lekvold explained that the City has nothing to do with the Daniels County Transportation.

Public Works Report – • PWD Berreth reported we had some issues with the pool, including a pipe fitting getting knocked out, and then the pump went out. Plentywood had a part we needed, so that was repaired right away. We purchased new parts and replaced Plentywood parts. Heater guys are still scheduled to install this weekend. Nemont will...
