MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DANIELS COUNTY, MONTANA, HELD JUNE 1, 2, AND 15, 2026.

SPECIAL MEETING June 1, 9 o’clock a.m.

The Board met in regular session, Commissioners Thievin, Fladager and Linder were present with the clerk.

The meeting was called to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Commissioner Linder made a motion to approve the agenda, Commissioner Fladager seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.

Commissioner Linder made a motion to approve May 2026 minutes. Commissioner Fladager seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.

The Board approved June 30, 2026 payroll.

The Board approved JV#s 8784-8788 The Board approved officer reports for May 2026.

Mikel P. Lund, Public Safety Commission and Sheriff Lowe met with the Board to give them a review of the meeting from May 18, 2026. Discussed: minutes from last meeting, annual work plan, active campaign for dispatch and deputy sheriff positions, dispatch possible changing shifts to 8 hours instead of 12 hours, grant writing class in Helena, coroner vehicle-cheaper to rent a vehicle from the funeral home, the vehicle will need to be decommissioned from Stonegarden, get decals on vehicles.

The Board held a hearing on unanticipated revenue and the expenditure of that revenue. Commissioner Fladager made a motion to sign Budget Voucher 2026-4, budgeting loan for fire truck and grant money for H5N1, Commissioner Linder seconded the motion, all in favor, motion passed.

Jenna Jones, Board of Health Chairman, met with the Board. She is presenting the new hire, Brittni Cromwell, with a letter to accept the position beginning in July. They are looking at options for training.

The Board recessed for lunch. The Board reconvened after lunch, Commissioners Thievin, Fladager, and Linder were present with the clerk.

J. Perry Wolfe and Lacey Southland met with the Board regarding covering insurance for personal property being used for District Judge’s Office.

Worker’s Compensation rates for fiscal year 26-27 were reviewed and discovered there was an error on reporting one of the worker’s compensation category gross salaries. J. Perry Wolfe will look into the error.

Mary Nyhus and LeeAnn Danelson, Public Health, met with the Board. The Board reviewed Amendment #126-074-31-110-0 Immunization Task Order. Commissioner Fladager made a motion to sign the amendment, Commissioner Linder seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.
