City Business . . .

Taken from the unapproved minutes and reporter’s notes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday,June9,2026 at 8:30 a.m.

REGULAR MEETING Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with Councilmembers Seth Axtman, Niki Larson, Greg Crowder, and Brian French present. Also, in attendance were Art Holum, Taylor Plante, Kody Brinton, Pool Manager Shalice Maldondo, City Attorney Samantha Howard, PWD Steve Berreth, and Clerk Sonya M. Southland.

Public Works Report –

•PWD Berreth reported he splash pad cement work is being completed, and there is an issue with the expansion joint in the pool as well. The furnace at the pool isn’t working properly; parts have been ordered.

•We are on the schedule to rent the crack sealer again this summer for an estimated cost of $10,000 a month.

• Councilman Axtman reported some damage again on the street in front of the hospital from the MRI truck trailer turning into the parking lot.

•Also reported that one of the radio boards is bad at the pivot.

• New Garbage Truck has been working well. We now have access to the Sheridan County landfill on Mondays, so we are returning to the original pickup schedule of Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for residential and commercial pickups. City is hauling more tonnage with the new truck.
