New Garbage Truck Added to City Fleet
After years of aging equipment, breakdowns and ongoing repair issues, the City of Scobey has placed a new garbage truck into service with hopes of improving reliability and reducing some of the recurring solid waste challenges faced by both the city and county.
The City recently purchased a 2026 Mack garbage truck equipped with a 26-yard Heil box at a cost of $391,215, receiving a tradein allowance for its 2017 Peterbilt garbage truck. The city had budgeted $250,000 from its Solid Waste Fund, although officials had not anticipated replacing the truck this year. It was decided to go with all brand new instead of buying someone else’s problems with this type industrial equipment.
