Scobey Invite Might Have Been Cold But Spartans Sure Weren’t

It was tight at the top of the girls’ division when the Scobey High School’s annual Golf Meet was held at the Scobey Golf Course Monday, May 4.
So tight the top three individual scores were 100 strokes, 100 strokes and 100 strokes!
However, once the tiebreaker method was conducted it was Scobey’s own Ashtynn Fladager all alone in first place with a score of 51-49—100. Second place was claimed by Plentywood’s Alonna Lindbloom, who carded a 53-47—100 while Scobey’s Claire Lekvold took third with a 5050—100.
Fladager had one par, two bogeys and five double bogeys on the front nine holes and six bogeys and two double bogeys on the back nine for a 15-over-par 5149—100.
Lindbloom carded a 53 on the front nine using one par, one bogey and three double bogeys to do so. On the back side she had one par, five bogeys and three double bogeys to secure the runnersup spot.
Lekvold was steady on the day with a pair of 50s, marking in her scorecard one birdie on 134-yard No. 8, one par, three bogeys and two double bogeys. On the back nine she carded one par, three bogeys and four double bogeys for a steady 50-50—100 for third place.
On the boys’ side, the Wildcats of Plentywood edged the hosting Spartans by a very slim two-stroke margin, 253-to-255.
