Town Hall Has Poor Turnout; Gov. Study Commissions Finalize Recommendations
A Town Hall meeting was held Tuesday, April 14, with the Daniels County Local Government Study Commission and the City of Scobey Local Government Study Commission. They have been meeting on a regular basis since December 2024, after the County, City, and Town of Flaxville all voted to fund local government study reviews.
The purpose of the review is to examine government structures—what works and what doesn’t—and to make recommendations to voters for final approval, should there be proposed structural changes to forms of government.
Fourcommunitymembers were present at this past public meeting. All meetings are open to the public.
The City of Scobey has decided it will recommend continuing with its present form of government, a commission- executive system with an elected mayor and city council.
