If the Class C top-ranked Scobey boys’ varsity basketball team can put together a 3-game winning streak at this week’s East C Divisional Tournament in Miles City, they will be heading to the State C Tournament in Missoula as the top-ranked Class C team.

It would be the program’s second consecutive trip to the State gathering and third in the past six seasons: 2020 state co-champs with Fairview; 2021 state champs; 2022 8th at divisionals; 2023, 4th at divisionals; 2024 3rd at divisionals; 2025 3rd at state.

After being idle last week, the Spartans are set to be back into the thick of things at the East C gathering March 4-7 at Custer County District High School in Miles City.

Here is a look at the firstround pairings for the boys: On Wednesday, March 4, the Terry Terriers (14-7, 1083-929, 51.5-44.2) took on the Lustre Christian Lions (18-3, 1477-812, 70.338.6) at 6 p.m. followed by the Bainville Bulldogs (11-9, 984-989, 49.2-49.4) clashing with the Carter County (Ekalaka) Bulldogs (17-3, 1122-833, 56.1-41.6) at 4:30 p.m.

First-round action continues Thursday, March 5, when: Circle Wildcats (156, 1379-895, 65.6-42.6) meet the Garfield County (Jordan) Mustangs (9-12, 1024-1122, 48.7-53.4) at 10:30 a.m.; Scobey Spartans (20-0, 1469-588, 73.4-29.4) face the Savage Warriors (10-11, 984-986, 46.8-46.9) at 3 p.m.; Lustre Christian-Terry winner battles with the Brockton Warriors ...
