A general outline for a proposed crude oil pipeline originating in Canada, crossing through Montana was submitted to the Montana Department Environmental Quality on January 28 of this year.

Bridger Pipeline Expansion, LLC of Casper Wyoming is proposing to construct a 36-inch diameter steel crude oil pipeline engineered to deliver a nominal capacity of approximately 550,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil.

The Project will begin near the U.S./Canada border in Phillips County, Montana, and extend approximately 645 miles to the south, terminating at an existing facility near Guernsey, Wyoming.
