The Scobey varsity boys basketball team (6-0, 14-0, 1045-403, 74.6-28.7) had an easy time of it during last week’s action, starting with a 100-20 win over the visiting Frazer Bearcubs.

John Carney led in the scoring column with 23 points followed by Sebastian McGowan with 16, Reese Tande 12 and Blake Lekvold 10.

The next night, also in Scobey, the boys in blue and gold—they are currently the gold standard in Class C this season thus far according to the 406mtsports.com poll—dropped the Class B Glasgow Scotties 73-38. Carney and Kolten Machart both dumped 20 points each into the goal.

Friday night in the Wolves’ Den Gym the Spartans handled Wolf Point 69-26, taking a 54-13 lead by halftime. Having the hot hand again was Carney with 25 markers, including a huge 15 points in the first quarter alone! Cooper Axtman and Machart pitched in with 13 and 12 points respectively.

The week closed out along the North Dakota border when the Spartans traveled to Westby. It was 24-4 at the end of 8 minutes of action and 48-6 by halftime in an 86-15 rout. Carney remained hot from the field with 23 points, Bram Handran added 14 and Axtman, Machart and Tande all hit for a dozen points each.
