Ronald Fjeld 1931 – 2026
Ronald Charles Fjeld was born on December 2, 1931, in Scobey, Montana, to George E. Fjeld and Beryle Heninger, and was an only child. After his father enlisted in the military during World War II, Ron and his mother moved to Clarkston, Washington to be near her family, where he attended elementary school for a couple of years. Each summer, he returned to Scobey to help his grandparents and uncles – Larry, Ole, and Stub Fjeld – on the family farm.
When Ron turned 10, his grandparents and parents decided he should stay in Scobey during the school year, so he could attend school with friends and work on the farm each summer. Ron graduated from Scobey High School in 1949. He then served in the U.S. Air Force at Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM.
