Why I Supported HB 231 and SB 542 — and Voted No on SB 90 Property taxes have been hitting Montana families hard, and residents in northeast Montana have felt that pressure in a very real way. This past legislative session, several bills were promoted as “property tax relief.” As a member of the House Taxation Committee, I spent a lot of time digging into fiscal notes, asking hard questions, and running the numbers to see what those bills would mean back home.
