Lady Spartans Have Four Games In A Very Short Five-Day Stretch


Number of the past week for the Scobey girls’ varsity basketball team.
Twenty-five! As in the total of turnovers the Lady Spartans coughed up when visiting the Glasgow Scotties Tuesday, January 13, in The Dawg Pound Gym, resulting in a 49-37 loss for Scobey, its first of the season.
Fortunately it was a nonconference contest, which means the Spartans (7-1, 3-0, 446-213, 55.7-26.6) are still undefeated in District 3 action.
The Scotties, who visit Scobey Tuesday, January 27, took a 12-9 lead through one quarter of action and led 17-15 at halftime and 36-21 through three periods.
Joely Chapell led the offensive charge for Glasgow with 25 points while Chloe Handran was Scobey’s leading scorer with 10 points.
Scobey hosted Nashua Friday, January 16, and rolled to a big 75-15 victory.
