Defense was the name of this game!

The Scobey girls varsity basketball team flexed its stopper-mentality muscles Saturday night in Plentywood, getting off to a fast start and earning a 53-14 non-conference victory.

The Spartans (5-0, 289112, 57.8-22.4) took the first lead on Dylon Allestad’s field goal and Camrie Holum’s basket following a Wildcat turnover making it 4-0. Plentywood eventually put a point on the scoreboard at the 4:55 mark of the opening quarter when sinking a free throw.

The 3-point margin disappeared quickly as Scobey went on a 7-0 run with Holum hitting twice with a Chloe Handran 3-point field goal tucked in between for an 11-1 advantage.
