Lady Spartans Win Pair Of Non-Conference Matchups

The Scobey girls varsity basketball team successfully avoided it first loss of the season by winning a pair of non-conference games this past weekend.

The Spartans (4-0, 23698, 59.0-24.5) took down the Class B Wolf Point Wolves 65-34 Friday night and the Class C District 2 MonDak Thunder 45-37 Saturday, with both being played in the Scobey large gymnasium.

In the weekend opener against the Wolves (1-6, 271-402, 38.7-57.4) the visitors jumped out to a 5-0 advantage but the Spartans rallied to take its initial lead at 11-10. After the visitors knotted it at 11, the home team was off to the races, ahead 29-16 at the midway point of the contest.

At the half Scobey had just six turnovers while the Wolves had 15.
