Taken from the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tues., November 25, 2025. REGULAR MEETING Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with Council members Brian French, Seth Axtman, and Niki Larson were present. Greg Crowder was present via Slack. Sarah Nelson, Paula Jensen, Laura Buer, Stephanie Hanson, Shelly Buer, Burl Bowler, Sheriff Lowe, Wyatt Wilder, Fire Chief, PWD Steve Berreth, and Clerk Sonya M. Southland also attended. Public Comment – Stephanie Hanson inquired about the city’s regulation on short-term rentals. The City did limit the number of short-term rentals allowed. Currently, six short-term rentals need to submit their annual renewal applications in January. One of those has already submitted their documentation and fee for 2026. Mayor Lekvold asked for any comments concerning the draft ordinance amending the code to regulate chickens. A copy of the proposed amendment is available at City Hall.

Public Works Report – • PWD Berreth reported the garbage truck should be done next week; we may have to replace the garage door in the back shop. PWD Berreth will research costs. • The crew is moving snow. It is very sticky and icy underneath. They will use the snow buckets and pusher to clear streets, alleys, and driveways. Green dumpsters will be picked up Dec. 1 and put away for the season. • PWD Berreth reported on the Solid Waste Meeting – they will resume opening on Mondays in a few months.
