A NEW PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION has been formed through an agreement with the City of Scobey and Daniels County. Recently appointed to the commission are Kurt Nelson, a retired Border Patrol Agent; Jereme Jones who is the County Executive Director for the Farm Service Agency in Scobey; and retired Daniels County Commissioner, Mikel Lund. A NEW PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION has been formed through an agreement with the City of Scobey and Daniels County. The City of Scobey and Daniels County have entered into a new agreement to organize and operate a staffed law enforcement agency for the City of Scobey and County of Daniels.

Allphysicalsupportequipment, including communications, physical plant, holding facility, and related law enforcement operations will be consolidated under the Department of Public Safety, which includes the Daniels County Dispatch Center, and will be overseen by a three-member Public Safety Commission.

City and County officials say the goal is to provide continuously improving services while eliminating operational overlap. The signed agreement outlines responsibilities, financial procedures, reporting obligations, and the scope of duties for the newly created commission.
