The Scobey girls’ varsity volleyball team saw its 2025 season come to an end early Friday night in Sidney while competing in the East C Divisional Tournament at Sidney High School, which ran from Thursday, November 6, through Saturday the 8th.

In the nine-team tourney the Spartans placed fifth. Moving up the ladder in order of finish were the Garfield County (Jordan) Mustangs in fourth, Powder River County (Broadus) Hawks third, North Country Mavericks of the Saco, Whitewater and Hinsdale communities in second and defending State C champion Circle Wildcats in first.

The Spartans drew Broadus in the first round.

The Hawks flew to a 2-0 lead in games during Thursday’s 2 p.m. action.

In game three there were ties at 2, 6, 10, 12 and 13 before Broadus began pulling away, leading by as much as 23-17 in a 25-20 win.

The loss dropped the Spartans into a Friday loser- out match against the Richey-Lambert Fusion with the first serve in the air at 10:06 a.m.
