Prep Playoff Preview, Week 2

If one is a Montana High School Association football fan then one has to be excited about what happened last week on Scobey’s Plainsmen Field and what could happen this week on Scobey’s Plainsmen Field.

What occurred was the top-ranked Spartans scored on five of their first six offensive possessions, the spoiler being their first offensive possession where on 2nd-and-6 from their own 36-yard line the Bulldogs recorded a 10yard quarterback sack making it 3rd-and-16.

“Punt!” was the call from the sideline and Cooper Axtman booted a nice 35-yarder, Choteau beginning its initial offensive possession on its own 26.

The Spartans forced back-to-back incomplete passes and limited a 3rd-and-10 rush to zero yards and the opponent punted.

The offensive bombardment then began: 26 plays via 23 rushes for 160 yards (8-yard average) and three pass attempts with two completed for 34 yards. And just like that, in the span of 13:06 of game clock, it was 40-0 with 7:57 remaining until halftime.

What do these Spartans have up their sleeves for an encore when the St. Regis-Mullan Tigers show up on Plainsmen Field Saturday the 8th for a 1 p.m. kickoff?
