Now that the preliminaries are out of the way, which also goes by the name of regular season, it is time for the big show, the seasonender going by the moniker of 62nd annual State Cross Country Championships.

If recent history has anything to say about the Saturday, October 25, gathering on the University of Montana Golf Course, it is this: the Spartans have four boys and one girl having been there and done that on this course, as all five ran on it one year ago.

For the Scobey girls, who placed fifth at last year’s state meet in Missoula behind champion Roberts, runnerup West Yellowstone, Manhattan Christian and Drummond, junior Ashtynn Fladager crossed the finish line in 76th. Joining Fladager will be eighth grader Evee Berryhill, junior Shelby Cole, sophomore Hazel Sones and freshman Brooke Trower.
