Course Comparisons Certainly Differ On Week-To-Week Basis


Last week the Leader reader was told how many of the Scobey cross country runners’ times from the Plentywood Invitational cross country meet, which was held on the Plentywood Golf Course, decreased a week later when competing on the mostly blacktop fasttrack at Kiwanis Park in Fort Peck.
This past Saturday, October 11, the Scobey harriers traveled to Sidney for its cross country meet. It was conducted on the Sidney Country Club golf course, with the competition held on the eastern side of the 18-hole course. It featured a few ups and downs on the southwest portion of the course, otherwise it is a predominantly flat track on green grass.
So, did most of the Scobey times stay the same as Fort Peck’s meet or not?
Mostly not! Eight were slower than the Glasgow Invite while three were faster, a trio comprised of Bryce Handran, Apollo Kramer and Delbert Sones, who were 20 seconds, 34 seconds and 83 seconds, respectively, faster than their times on Fort Pec...
