Gridders Enter Home Stretch Of 2025 Prep East C Football Season
Five victories down and three more to go for the Scobey varsity football team, which would mean if it runs the table in the regular season it would enter the postseason playoffs with an unblemished 8-0 record.
The Spartans (5-0, 24472, 48.8-14.4) travel this Saturday to C-Bar-C Field in Culbertson (4-2, 214-146, 35.6-24.3) for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
A Scobey victory would mean they are one step closer to finishing with an unblemished regular-season record, if they can best the Fairview Warriors—never an easy task—and the Poplar Indians in their final two games of the regular season. If they can pull that off they would be the home team throughout the four weeks of the playoffs as long as they are in them. Sounds easy with this team but do not get too comfy when the Warriors show up on Plainsmen Field Thursday, October 16. These two teams have a solid history of getting after one another and this season will likely be no different. The last time they met on the gridiron, which was a 2024 semifinal playoff game in Fairview—The Cold Bowl if you will—the Warriors were 18-6 winners! Last week’s win over the Forsyth Dogies in the annual Homecoming game on Plainsmen Field Thursday, October 2, saw the Spartans lead 20-0 after one quarter, 34-0 at halftime, 54-0 through three and 68-16 in the end. The Spartans rushed for 280 on 24 carries (11.6yard average) and earned 148 yards through the air for 428 total! Many more details in the boxscore!
