City Business . . .
Taken from the unapproved minutes and reporter’s notes of the regular meeting of City Council, City of Scobey, Montana held Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. REGULAR MEETING Mayor Morgan Lekvold called the meeting to order with councilmembers Niki Larson, Greg Crowder, and Brian French present. Bridget Kalblinger, Paula Jensen, Sheriff Lowe, TAC Officer Shauna Lowe, Wyatt Wilder, City Attorney Samatha Howard, PWD Steve Berreth, and Clerk Sonya M. Southland also attended.
Public Comment – Bridget Kalblinger reported on the emergency preparedness exercise conducted Sept. 17, 2025. This report focused on the fire department part of training. The lack of on-site interior radios used for communication between firefighters and hose packs was discussed. They were also short-handed, so the incident commander had to perform dual positions. Communication is a critical part of any scenario. Bridget is here to advocate for the needs of each department. Doing these exercises is essential not only for training but also for applying for grants.
Public Works Report –
PWD Berreth reported they did their annual hydrant tests and flushing. Two hydrants need repairs; parts are on order. Councilman French asked if we have extra rebuild kits for hydrants. We do for Kennedy Hydrants, but not for Mueller’s.
