It was not raining, snowing, lightning, windy nor any other weather condition making runners, coaches, parents and fans miserable when the Scobey Invitational cross country meet was held Friday, September 12.

How about muggy? Yes, it was definitely in the air but tolerable. Despite the stickiness, things ran—no pun intended—very smooth.

The meet attracted 42 and 46 high school girls and boys, respectively, and 72 and 61 middle school girls and boys for 221 total.

The Scobey cross country course has a little bit of everything. The one exception being a very steep hill, like Gas Cap Hill outside of Crow Agency, which climbs 223 feet from the floor of the valley, or the much shorter but much steeper Heart Attack Hill four miles west of Frazer, where the Spartans are set to compete today ...
